Urgent Meeting under the leadership of Simranjit Singh Mann in support of Panthic joint candidate Bhai Mandeep Singh

Amritsar, October 24 (Gurpreet Singh Dubb):

To strengthen the campaign in favour of the Panthic joint candidate, Bhai Mandeep Singh, in the Tarn Taran by-election, an urgent meeting was called today by the Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar under the leadership of Party President S. Simranjit Singh Mann. All party office-bearers and PAC members participated in this meeting.

Speaking to reporters, S. Simranjit Singh Mann said that the Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar has given its full support to Bhai Mandeep Singh and this is a symbol of Panthic unity. He stated that it is now the duty of every Panthic organisation to stand in favour of Mandeep Singh and ensure that the true Panthic voice reaches the Legislative Assembly. Mann said that Punjab has suffered extensive damage due to floods, but the people have not yet received full compensation. He expressed serious concern over issues such as the non-conduct of Shiromani Committee elections, the non-opening of borders, and the ban on going to Pakistan for darshan (viewing) of Guru Nanak Patshah Ji. Mann stated that if Bhai Mandeep Singh wins, all these Panthic issues will be raised in the Legislative Assembly. Finally, he said that any misbehavior with journalists is wrong and the Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar respects the Dharmi Faujis (Sikh soldiers who deserted the army after Operation Blue Star).

Present on the occasion were Iman Singh Mann, Harpal Singh Baler, Upkar Singh Sandhu, Bibi Rajinder Kaur Jaito, Kuldeep Singh Bhagowal, Gurjant Singh Kattu, Harbhajan Singh Kashmiri, Amrik Singh Nangal, Tejinder Singh Deol, Kulwant Singh Majhail, Kulwant Singh Kotla, Shamsher Singh Brar, Hardeep Singh Narike, Jatinder Singh Thind, Harjinder Singh Jakhu, Sandeep Singh, Davinder Singh, Jasbir Singh Bachre, Dilbagh Singh Sero, Mohinder Pal Singh Mehta, Daljit Singh, Baljit Singh, Nambardar Gurmel Singh and others.
