Police Raid Near Golden Temple Exposes Illegal Activities in Hotel — Four Girls Rescued, Manager Arrested

Amritsar, October 24:

In a major crackdown near the Golden Temple, the B-Division Police of Amritsar conducted a surprise raid at a hotel located in Kairon Wala Bazaar and exposed an illicit business being run there. During the operation, the police rescued four girls — three from different districts of Punjab and one from Uttarakhand.

According to Police Officer Baljinder Singh Aulakh, the police received a secret tip-off last evening that immoralactivities were taking place at B.R. Home Stay Hotel in Kairon Wala Bazaar. Acting swiftly, the police raided the premises and arrested the hotel manager, identified as Suraj Kumar, a resident of Bhikhiwind.

During inspection, no legal documentation or guest records were found in the hotel, and several rooms were found open without any official booking. The police have registered a case against the manager under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act. The accused was presented before the court, and police obtained a one-day remand for further questioning. Statements of the rescued girls have also been recorded before the court.

One of the rescued girls was found to be a minor and has been handed over to the Child Welfare Committee for proper care. Police are also investigating the ownership of the hotel and trying to determine whether the owner was involved in the illegal activities.

Officer Aulakh issued a strict warning to all hotel owners, urging them to maintain proper records and operate strictly according to the law. He cautioned that any hotel found involved in illegal or immoral activities would face severe legal action.
