Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal today visited flood-affected areas of Ajnala constituency to meet with victims and assess the damage. Addressing the media, Badal stated that Ajnala, particularly the Samarala Sahib region, suffered the worst damage during the floods.

He announced that under the Akali Dal’s initiative, 4,000 quintals of seeds worth ₹1.60 crore are being distributed village to village starting today.

Badal further declared that beginning next month, the Shiromani Akali Dal will provide wheat assistance to 50,000 poor families whose livelihoods were impacted by the floods. “The campaign will begin after November 15, and the distribution of seeds will be completed within the next 15 days,” he said.

Attacking the Punjab government, Badal alleged that despite grand promises, no concrete relief has reached flood victims on the ground. Taking aim at Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, he said, “You are violating the law, posting officers for electoral gains, and intimidating our sarpanches and workers.”

He added that he had informed the Election Commission about the misuse of power, stating, “This government has lost public trust and is now fighting elections through officials instead of people.”

In a direct attack on Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Badal said, “A person who was removed drunk from a foreign plane cannot be the pride of Punjab. Such videos are a disgrace for all of us.”

He emphasized that the people of Punjab have now realized that only a regional party like Shiromani Akali Dal can truly represent the state’s identity and dignity.

Concluding his address, Badal said, “To restore the honour of Punjab and its people, we must unite once again, because the present government has turned democracy into a mockery.”
