The late Sukhdev Singh Pandher was a pioneer of social work
The loss of a fearless journalist and a person who took decisions with determination has left an irreparable loss to the society

The late Sukhdev Singh Pandher, a prominent social worker and PRTC Patiala employee, was born on 10-09-1956 in Chahal, Patiala district, to mother Gurnam Kaur Dhillon and father Gurbachan Singh Pandher. Along with being an important link in 6 families of 4 sisters and 2 brothers, he also watered the flower garden of his wife Gurdeep Kaur, son Manjot Singh, daughter-in-law Satvir Kaur, daughter Simranjit Kaur, son-in-law Harpreet Singh and grandchildren in such a way that they will always spread the blessings of their great man in the society. Reaching the post of Superintendent of Roadways Corporation, he has proved his expertise in government work by performing various posts, different depots and different types of duties, which is evidenced by the heaps of commendations he received. From the date of joining the institution on 11-05-1977 to the day of his retirement on 30-09-2014, he remained fully active in his government duty. Apart from the work of the institution, he also worked actively and successfully in various positions in the P. R. T. C. Workers Union, Atk. He was a prominent leader of the union at the depot level and had also held the post of secretary in the central team of the union. It was part of his nature to play an active role in the common works of the village and in all kinds of fights for truth and justice. His role has been leading in taking the activities of the Malwa Cultural Club, formed in many villages including village Chahal, to the top. After retirement, he chose journalism as his path of service. Late. Sukhdev Singh Pandher's memorial service is being organized on Friday, February 13, at Rori Sahib Chahal.
