New Delhi November 9 (Manpreet Singh Khalsa):- Sikh group Patshahi Dawa has condemned the Indian High Commissioner in New Zealand's 'Punjabi Week' in the first week of November as an attempt to divert attention from the 1984 Sikh Genocide. The Indian High Commissioner declared the first week of November as Punjabi Language Week in which dance and Bhangra programs are organized across New Zealand. However, the Sikh organisation Patshahi Dawa New Zealand has strongly condemned the move, calling it a deliberate attempt to cover up the Sikh genocide that took place in the same week of November 1984, when more than 30,000 Sikhs were killed and thousands of Sikh women were raped across India, with Sikhs being burnt with tyres stuck down their throats, and even nursing children and the elderly not spared. Sikh property worth billions of rupees was looted and destroyed. Sikh women became the only widow colony in the world, leaving an indelible mark on India. The killers of Sikhs are still roaming free. The group accused the Indian government of thinking that with such programs, the Sikh community would forget the Sikh genocide of November 1984, but they are mistaken. As long as Sikhs with a conscious conscience live, this heinous act can never be forgotten and every Sikh will continue to oppose it for the rest of their lives. Whenever Indian ambassadors visit foreign countries, they will also face widespread opposition.
