Under the leadership of the Democratic Rights Sabha unit Sangrur, a meeting of various public, democratic, labor, farmer and employee organizations was held at the local Comrade Teja Singh Sutantar Bhawan. In which leaders and activists of all the organizations participated. The meeting was chaired by District President Jagjit Bhutal, while the proceedings were conducted by Kuldeep Singh Secretary. State leader Swaranjit Singh made a special contribution and discussed in depth the need for today's meeting and the issues put forward for discussion in it.
The leaders strongly criticized the Punjab and Central governments for imprisoning Sonam Wangchuk, who is peacefully protesting for the issues of the Ladakh region, imposing an undeclared ban on the Land Acquisition Sangharsh Committee, the shoe thrown by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, who belongs to the Dalit community and is a so-called upper caste lawyer, and the numerous atrocities being committed by the government, the daily repression and lathi charges being committed on organizations struggling for their rights.
They called it a violation of democracy in broad daylight and demanded the immediate release of Sonam Wangchuk, who is inhumanly detained in jails, lifting the ban on the Land Acquisition Sangharsh Committee, taking strict action against the communal lawyer who threw the shoe, and stopping the phenomenon of inhumane oppression. In the meeting, it was also decided to hold a protest against these government repression and oppression on the 350th anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur's unique sacrifice for democracy and on International Human Rights Day. After this, democratic activists held a symbolic demonstration in Barnala Kainchiyan and raised slogans against the government for the ongoing atrocities against democracy.
On this occasion, Vice President of the Sabha Basesar Ram, Finance Secretary Mandhir Singh Rajomajra, Joint Secretary Kulwinder Bunty, Data Singh Namol of Democratic Teachers Front (Digvijay related), Sukhwinder Gir of Democratic Teachers Front, Balbir Longowal of Desh Bhagat Yadgar, Jujhar Longowal of Tarksheel Society, Gurdeep Singh, Bhajan Dhadrian of Kirti Kisan Union, Jarnail Singh Jahangir, Baljit Namol of Bharatiya Kisan Union (Dakavu), Krantikari Rural Workers Union, Babanpal, Niranjan Singh of Naujwan Bharat Sabha, Technical Employees Union and a large number of democratic activists were present.
