Baba Sukhdev Singh demands action on placing a chair next to Guru Granth Sahib Ji: Baba Mehraj
👉 Appeal to file a complaint with SSP for hurting Panthic sentiments by submitting a memorandum
New Delhi, October 27 (Manpreet Singh Khalsa):- A video of Baba Sukhdev Singh of Dera Rumewala Bhucho Mandi sitting next to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji went viral, to which Sikh leaders expressed strong objection. Today, Sikh leaders including Pradhani leader Baba Hardeep Singh Mehraj submitted a memorandum to SSP Bathinda demanding concrete action against Baba Sukhdev Singh for inciting religious sentiments and committing sacrilege by placing a chair next to Guru Sahib. It is worth mentioning that a video of Baba Sukhdev Singh, the head of Dera Rumi Wala Bhucho Mandi, sitting on a chair next to the Guru Granth Sahib Ji went viral, which led to strong protests from Sikh organizations and Sikh leaders. However, it is surprising that no action has been taken by the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib or the President of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee on this matter, nor has Dera Head Baba Sukhdev Singh himself come forward yet. But today, Sikh leaders have submitted a memorandum to the SSP seeking action. Baba Hardeep Singh Mehraj said that the act of Dera Rumi Wala head Sukhdev Singh sitting on a chair next to Guru Granth Sahib Ji is highly condemnable and an act of hurting sentiments, which is a barren crime, for which a case of hurting sentiments should be registered against Sukhdev Singh. He expressed surprise that despite this matter going viral, no action has been taken by the Jathedar of Shri Akal Takht Sahib or the President of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee on this matter, whereas they should immediately take action against Baba Sukhdev Singh. He also said that if the Dera head does not apologize for this matter, then in the coming days, a fierce struggle will be launched by taking Sikh institutions and Sikh Sangat along with him.
