Dr. Amandeep Singh Bakshi, Professor of Orthopaedics at Rajindra Hospital, Patiala, has officially taken charge as the President of the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Patiala for the year 2026. The installation ceremony took place during a specialized CME (Continuing Medical Education) session held at Hotel Narain Continental.

In a CME conducted on Recent advances in cardiology at Hotel Narian Continental , Dr Amandeep Singh Bakshi, Prof. Orthopaedics, Rajindra Hospital, Patiala took over the charge as president IMA for 2026. The event was graced by more then 150 IMA members, senior Punjab IMA office bearers Dr Chander Mohini and Dr Harsimran Singh Tuli , Dr Bhagwant Singh, Dr Jatinder Kansal past presidents IMA Punjab, PMC members Dr Rakesh Arora ,Dr Jaswinder Pal Singh Sodhi . Senior members Dr Manmohan Singh , Dr Brijesh Modi , Dr Vishal Chopra , Dr H S Wealthy, Dr Sudhir Verma graced the occasion.
Dr Sudhanshu Budakoty senior cardiologist from Fortis Hospital , Mohali enlightened the gathering on recent advances in Cardiology and senior cardiologists of Patiala deliberated on this issue in the CME .
In his presidential address , Dr Bakshi expressed that IMA is more then an organisation, it’s a philosophy, a collective conscience , a professional family for a positive change in the society. He expressed his vision for the coming year to strengthen unity among members , to uphold highest professional and ethical standards, to support continuous learning and innovation and to keep the prestige and honour of all members of IMA at all levels. He emphasised teamwork, transparency and togetherness as key to achieve all goals. Dr Amandeep Singh Bakshi declared his team for 2026 as Dr Rajinder Goyal as Secretary, Dr Rohit Singla as Vice President, Dr Kiranjot Kaur as joint Secretary and Dr Parvinder Singh as Finance Secretary. The meeting concluded with vote of thanks by Dr Rajinder Goyal, Secretary IMA Patiala .
