A transformative week of healing, support and safety through Sikh Retreats to raise awareness against Guruming gangs

New Delhi 25th February (Manpreet Singh Khalsa):- A powerful and compassionate initiative was provided by Sikh Youth UK to raise awareness against the growing Guruming gangs against Sikhs through Sikh Retreats 2026 which was dedicated to impacting members of the Sangat on their daily lives from sexual grooming and addiction and other related challenges. Bhai Deepa Singh said that the retreat provided a safe, nurturing and spiritually grounded environment for individuals and families to seek guidance, healing and new strength. Over the course of a full week, attendees received comprehensive wraparound support not only for individuals but also for their families. Recognizing that these challenges affect entire homes and communities, the retreat was designed to promote resilience, awareness and collective healing. What sets Sikh retreats apart from traditional camps is its positive focus on wellness, safety, and prevention – while maintaining Sikhism as its core element. The program included Sikh educational workshops that addressed awareness, addiction, and safety, practical tools to recognize early warning signs and prevent coercion or manipulation, empowerment with Sikh principles for faith, resilience, and informed decision-making, and safe, positive association to help session attendees stay away from harmful influences and negative environments. Participants left armed not only with support but with knowledge – they were educated on how to protect themselves and empower them to contribute to the safety of future generations. The retreat was made possible by the extraordinary dedication of the service providers who generously gave of their time, energy, and resources to make a meaningful difference in addressing taboo and often unspoken issues within the community. Their commitment ensured a week filled with care, compassion, and professionalism. The impact of the retreat has been significant, with overwhelmingly positive feedback from attendees and their families. Many described the experience as life-changing – offering clarity, hope and a renewed sense of connection to one another. Along with workshops and dewans filled with spiritual inspiration and uplifting vibes, the retreat offered a range of exciting outdoor activities designed to promote confidence, teamwork and wellbeing. Attendees at the event enjoyed archery, canoeing, zip wire, faith challenge jumps and team-building exercises and recreational activities. These experiences provided attendees with a much-needed break from the pressures of daily life, with smiles, laughter and genuine connection flourishing throughout the week. He said significant time, effort and financial resources are used in delivering the Sikh retreat each year. However, the profound positive impact on individuals, families and the wider community far outweighs any challenges faced in organising the event.
The Sikh Retreat is committed to expanding its initiatives, continuing to address sensitive issues with courage and compassion, and protecting future generations through education, faith, and community unity.
