1st unRGNUL National Corporate Liquidation Process Competition
February 2026 The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Law Division under the Centre for Business Laws and Taxation at Rajiv Gandhi
National University of Law (RGNUL), Punjab successfully organised the 1st RGNUL National Corporate
Liquidation Process Competition, bringing together participants from leading law schools across the country. The
competition simulated complex corporate liquidation proceedings under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code,
2016, with a particular emphasis on secured creditor rights, procedural compliance, and the interaction between
insolvency law and criminal enforcement mechanisms. The award for Best Speaker was conferred upon Ms.
Kajal Bang from O.P. Jindal Global University. Team from O.P. Jindal Global University was adjudged Runners-
Up. National Law University, Delhi was declared the winners of the competition.
The competition comprised Preliminary Rounds, Semi-Final Rounds and the Final Round. Preliminary Rounds
were conducted in the online mode whereas semi-final and final rounds were conducted at the Rajiv Gandhi
National University of Law in physical mode on February 21, 2026. The competition was inaugurated by the Vice-
Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Jai Shankar Singh who highlighted the need for competitions on technical matters like
insolvency and bankruptcy. He called upon students to learn the nuances of new technologies and new laws and
contribute towards making a better India.
Semi-Final Rounds were adjudicated by Ms. Rashneet Kaur of Khaitan & Co., Ms. Eshna Kumar of the
Chambers of Eshna Kumar, Mr. Anil Katia, Insolvency Professional, and Mr. Ankit Goel, Founding Partner of
AAA Insolvency Professionals LLP. Final Rounds were adjudicated by Ms. Shivani Sinha, Partner Pheonix Legal
and Mr. Vaijayant Paliwal, Partner of Shardul Amarchand Mangaldass & Co.
The competition concluded with a Valedictory Ceremony celebrating the achievements of participants and
organisers. Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma, Faculty Coordinator of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Law Division
(IBLD), Prof. (Dr.) Kamaljit Kaur, Dean Research along with faculty members Dr. Geetika Walia and Dr. Shruti
Goyal graced the occasion. Dr. Ivneet Walia, Registrar presented the vote of thanks.
