Three men charged in connection with the attack on two elderly Sikh taxi drivers in Wolverhampton, UK
👉 Will appear in Dudley Magistrates’ Court on March 5
New Delhi, January 30 (Manpreet Singh Khalsa):- Three men have been charged today and released on bail in connection with the attack on two elderly Sikh taxi drivers in Wolverhampton. The attack, which took place in August last year, was caught on video and the three men were immediately arrested by the British Transport Police (BTP). 20-year-old Jackery Hall, from Dudley, has been charged with grievous bodily harm (GBH), a racially aggravated public order offence, and three other public order offences. Nathan Edwards, 25, from Darleston, has been charged with GBH, actual bodily harm, two public order offences, criminal damage and resisting arrest. Leon Willetts and Rowley Regis, 18, have been charged with GBH and resisting arrest. They have been granted bail to appear at Dudley Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 5 March. BTP Superintendent Sue Peters said: “We understand how much concern this incident has caused the victims and their families, as well as the local Sikh community and the general public. A full investigation has been carried out into the matter, and three men have now been charged. It is vital that the judicial process is allowed to proceed without interference, and that nothing is said or published which could prejudice the ongoing court proceedings. We remain in close contact with the victims and continue to engage with the Sikh community and partner agencies. It is worth noting that police officers were called to action after reports of an attack on Sikhs outside Wolverhampton railway station around noon on 15 August 2025. Three men were arrested at the scene and taken into custody for questioning, and were later released on police bail while inquiries continued. The victims, two Sikh men - one aged 60 and the other aged 70, went to hospital for treatment and were discharged after treatment. Sikh Federation (UK) Lead Executive Dabinderjit Singh OBE said: "We are delighted that the three men have been charged and we would like to thank local MPs for their continued investigation and pressure on British Transport Police. Despite the three men being arrested at the scene for this horrific attack, video evidence had gone viral and there were witnesses to the attack, it was hugely disappointing that it has taken the Crown Prosecution Service more than five months to be satisfied before charges were laid. There was a clear racist element to the attack on the two elderly Sikh men and we note that one of the three has been charged with a racially aggravated public order offence.
