The monthly meeting of Medical Practitioners Association Punjab Block Mehal Kalan was held at Baba Farid Ji Complex, Golden Colony Mehal Kalan under the leadership of Block President Harmel Singh Minta in an atmosphere of great enthusiasm and unity. Sub Senior Vice President Dr. Amarjit Kukku, Sub Press Media Incharge Dr. Mithu Mohammad, District President Dr. Labh Singh Mander, Senior Vice President Baldev Singh Dhaner, and District Treasurer Beant Singh Upli were present in the meeting.

During the meeting, the above-mentioned leaders present said that the registration of RMP doctors has been closed since 1963, which has cast a dark cloud over the employment and existence of lakhs of medical practitioners of Punjab. They said that this issue is not only of doctors, but is directly related to the health services of crores of people of Punjab.

The leaders said in clear words that the governments during the last several decades, regardless of the color or party, have made promises every time, but no government has been able to deliver.

Referring to the promises made by the current Aam Aadmi Party government, they said that continuous meetings were held with innumerable big leaders including Harpal Singh Cheema, Aman Arora, Health Minister Dr. Balvir Singh for three years, but the promises are still hanging in the files.

But “the medical practitioners of Punjab will not sit silent anymore. The rally of December 21 is the beginning of a historic battle for the rights of our lives.”

In the meeting, District President Dr. Labh Singh Mander and District Finance Secretary Dr. Beant Singh Upli said that under the leadership of State President Jaswinder Kalkh, a big zone level rally is going to be historic in Kotkapura, the city of Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan on December 21. Practitioners from seven districts including Moga, Barnala, Bathinda, Muktsar, Faridkot, Ferozepur, Fazilka will participate in this rally.

Large convoys of buses will leave from blocks Mahal Kalan, Sehna, Dhanaula and Barnala from Barnala district.

During the meeting, Senior Vice President Baldev Singh Dhaner appealed that all the doctor colleagues should come together and reach Dana Mandi Mahal Kalan at 9 am on December 21 and set a great example for the Kotkapura rally to demand their rights.

In the meeting, the leaders openly supported the ongoing struggle of workers and farmers against the Electricity Reform Bill and said that the medical community always stands with the voice of the people.

In the meeting, renowned journalists Sher Singh Ravi and Balwinder Singh Chak Bhai Ka also shared their views and supported the legitimate demands of the practitioners.

Dr. Dilwar Hussain, Dr. Gurmail Singh Kurar, Dr. Jasvir Jassi, Dr. Jagjivan Kalalmajra, Dr. Mukal Sharma, Dr. Amandev, Dr. Devinderpal Nihaluwal, Dr. Nahar Singh, Dr. Dharminder Singh etc., besides a large number of active members of the block, doctors also participated enthusiastically.

The gathered leaders finally said that “This rally is not just a gathering, but the beginning of a big war to be fought for the bright future of medical practitioners. If the government does not give its right, then this war will last for a long time.”
