Why UK government removed RAW's second-in-command Sarvesh Raj from London after killings of Sikhs abroad: Sikh Federation UK
Pressure on Security Minister to clarify Tories' threat to Sikh activists
New Delhi, November 12 (Manpreet Singh Khalsa):- The Sikh Federation (UK) has sent a follow-up letter to Security Minister Dan Jarvis, requesting an urgent meeting. This follows a letter written last Thursday following the Bloomberg documentary 'Inside the Deaths That Rocked India's Relations with the West' and the related article 'Finish Him Brother'. The UK government has become concerned about India's reaction as dozens of critical media reports in India have cited the role of the British intelligence agency that was not previously reported publicly. Sky News interviewed Jas Singh, a member of the Sikh Federation Canada and Sikh Federation (UK) visiting the UK on 8 November. The letter to Dan Jarvis provides additional information about a meeting held by the Tories with then Security Minister Tom Tugendhat on 18 July 2023. The meeting was held with a delegation of Labour MPs following the mysterious death of Avtar Singh Khanda in Birmingham on 15 June and the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada on 18 June. During the meeting, Labour MPs raised concerns about the operation of India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) in the UK, including showing a “hit-list” of Sikh activists on Indian television in early July 2023 and claiming responsibility for the killings of Hardeep Singh Nijjar and Avtar Singh Khanda. The letter urges Dan Jarvis, the current UK Minister of State for Security, to make it clear that when Indian RAW agent Sarvesh Raj was quietly expelled from the UK in July 2023 without explanation, the “cover-up” was “under Tory surveillance”. Little or no outcry from Indian authorities about the expulsion of Sarvesh Raj has fuelled suspicions that he was up to no good in the UK. The risk for the current Labour government is that they will be blamed for what emerges about what happened under Tory surveillance. The UK is increasingly concerned that there may be further information from court proceedings in Canada or the US or from Five Eyes partners providing further details of British intelligence that was kept secret. Sikh will soon meet and address dozens of MPs in Parliament’s Farm Committee Room 10 and will refer to this live issue. A copy of the letter to Dan Jarvis has been given to Foreign Secretary Yvette Copper, who will be aware of India's reaction to the revelations made by Bloomberg. It is worth noting that the nexus between Indian consulates and Indian intelligence agencies reveals a lot of depth, including which RAW agents were recently expelled in the UK and the US, and which ones remain in Western countries. Sarvesh Raj was RAW's second-in-command in London who was expelled by the UK government. He joined the London Consulate between June 15 and 18, 2022. His name is no longer on the current page of the London Consulate. The UK expelled him before he was allowed to complete his normal three-year term in the post.
