-Punjab government distributed the highest compensation amount in the country to flood affected people under Mission Chardikla-Chetan Singh Jauramajra

Samana MLA Chetan Singh Jauramajra today handed over letters of compensation amount of Rs 1.61 crore to 280 beneficiaries of two villages Sassa Gujjar and Dharamheri affected by Ghaggar in his constituency to deposit in their accounts. He was accompanied by SDM Patiala Harjot Kaur and Gurdev Singh Tiwana, Tehsildar Karanvir Singh Bhullar and other dignitaries.


On this occasion, Chetan Singh Jauramajra said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann had deposited the compensation amount in the accounts of the farmers in the first phase before the festival of Diwali by conducting online Girdawari in a transparent manner.

He said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has emerged as a benefactor of the farmers and the people of Punjab. He said that the Punjab government has given the highest compensation per acre in the country of Rs. 20 thousand. While the Central Government used to give only Rs. 5000.


Chetan Singh Jauramajra said that a total of 185 beneficiaries of village Dharamheri have been given a compensation amount of Rs. 1 crore 6 lakh 80 thousand and 95 beneficiaries of village Sassa Gujran have been given a compensation amount of Rs. 54 lakh 38 thousand.


Chetan Singh Jauramajra said that on the other hand, the central government is treating Punjab like a stepmother, but Punjab is badly affected by the floods, but still, without central help, the people are being helped by raising funds through Mission Chardikla for the flood-hit people.


He said that the Punjab government has taken many other important decisions including providing free wheat seeds to the farmers of the flood-affected land, such as providing sand to the fields, and medical assistance to the animals and citizens.


Kuljit Singh Randhawa, Sarpanch Varinder Singh, Sarpanch Ravi Kumar, Mewa Ram and Gurpreet Singh, village Panchs and Sarpanchs and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
