Kanpur. Police arrested a young man in an encounter who had brutally murdered a 7-year-old innocent child who was a hindrance to his love/illicit relationship with the child's mother.

According to the information given to the police by the arrested youth during interrogation, he wanted to take his girlfriend, i.e., the child's mother, with him, but she was not willing to leave the seven-year-old child. Therefore, he killed the child.

This incident took place in Hardev Nagar, under the Barra police station area, where a 7-year-old child was strangled to death by his mother's lover. According to the police, the accused youth took the child with him on the pretext of buying him a toy. When the child did not return home for a long time, the family members searched for him. When the child could not be traced, they informed UP-112. The police, with the help of CCTV cameras, reached the bank of the Pandu River, where the child's body was found lying. Thereafter, forensic and police officials were informed. Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), Ashutosh Kumar, reached the spot and investigated. After the forensic team collected evidence, the body was sent for post-mortem. After this, three police teams were deployed to search for the killer. Based on precise information from an informer, the police successfully arrested him during an encounter. A country-made pistol and cartridges were also recovered from him.

According to the details received about the incident:

Rajmistri, originally a resident of Ramsari village in Ghatampur, had come to live on rent in JL Verma's house in Hardev Nagar, Barra, about eight months ago. The family included his wife, one daughter, and two sons. The younger son was seven years old. According to the mother, at 1:30 PM, the accused Shivam Saxena, originally from Fatehpur and also a tenant in the house, took her son from the house on the pretext of getting him a toy. By 2:00 PM, when both did not return home, the search began, but no trace of either of them was found. They tried to contact the accused on the phone, but he did not answer the call.

When the son could not be traced until about 3:30 PM, UP-112 was informed. Following this, the police arrived at the scene and began searching for them with the help of CCTV cameras. In the CCTV footage, the accused was seen taking the child in an auto from Snehi Chauraha. The police then scanned the CCTV camera footage and reached Arra-2.

According to the police, a search operation was carried out around the Pandu River during this time. After about an hour of searching, the child's body was found lying on the riverbank. The police stated that further action is being taken after the accused youth was arrested in an encounter.
