Damdami Taksal Ajnala Strongly Opposes SGPC’s 350th Anniversary Celebrations
No Accountability Yet for Missing 328 Holy Saroops, Says Bhai Amrik Singh Ajnala

Damdami Taksal Ajnala chief Bhai Amrik Singh Ajnala has openly opposed the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) over its plans to celebrate the 350th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji. Addressing a press conference today, Bhai Amrik Singh accused the SGPC of failing to take any action or hold anyone accountable for the disappearance of 328 sacred saroops (copies) of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

He stated that the Taksal would continue to uphold the utmost respect and sanctity of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and the Panj Pyare, but warned that if any disrespect or untoward incident occurs during the SGPC-organized religious events, the SGPC and the Punjab Government would be held fully responsible.
Bhai Amrik Singh expressed deep dissatisfaction over the Badal family’s influence in the appointment of Jathedars, alleging that such appointments have compromised the impartiality and spiritual integrity of Sikh institutions. He added that the Taksal will not hesitate to take strict action if required, even if it leads to confrontation, in order to protect the honour and dignity of the Guru.
During the press conference, he urged the Sikh sangat to maintain peace and uphold religious decorum, emphasizing that the sanctity of religious gatherings must remain intact. Bhai Amrik Singh also demanded an immediate and transparent investigation into all cases that have been ignored or mishandled by the SGPC so far.
